Access to Arasaka has released their new Orbitus EP for free download via Tympanik Audio.

Based around a detail within the “Takeshi Kovacs” novels by Richard K. Morgan, ‘Orbitus‘ references Martian orbitals that shoot down anything that flies over a specific height, save for one gap near the planet’s equator, and how the characters try to figure out how to bring them down; symbolic of the limitations we place on ourselves and our attempts to overcome them.

‘Orbitus‘ finds Access To Arasaka in top form, incorporating complex, serendipitous beatwork against a stunning backdrop of thick atmospheres and futuristic synthlines. Beautiful and flowing dark electronic music that will surely grace any set of headphones.

Chicago’s Angriest Club takes up shop at Exit this month in order to celebrate 6 years of dishing out the hardest beats in town! DJs Weird Sketch & ‘Licious will bring the noize and that’s just the beginning.

Kinetic is the official afterparty for the Chemlab, 16 Volt, Leftspinedown, and Defcon show taking place at Dark Room. If anyone is left standing after such an awesome event, be sure to head north so we can finish you off!

Kinetic is also celebrating the release of several albums on the amazing Tympanik Audio label. Come hear selections from and have an opportunity to acquire copies of the latest from Fractional, SE, Geomatic and Chicago’s own Candle Nine.

Kinetic is proud to present a live performance and record release party for Chicago’s own, Hymen recording artist Millipede. Come celebrate the release of his new album “All My Best Intentions.” This event will also showcase the release of two awesome albums from excellent locally-based label Tympanik Audio: Access to Arasaka’s “Oppidian” and Displacer’s “X Was Never Like This.” There will be giveaways galore and DJ Misterentropy will provide the beats in between.

July Events!

We have two great events coming up later this month. First up is our monthly invasion of Neo — Nexus 6! — on Friday July 17th. This month DJs Gremlin and Sprite will be joining Razer-X for the aural assault. Come to hear some glitch, melodic rhythms, and hard-pounding beats! We also promise not to play any MJ. No, really.

Remember when we said we were looking for a July venue for Kinetic? Well we finally wrangled it out. This month’s Kinetic will be Sunday July 26th at Darkroom, featuring DJs Licious and Weird Sketch. Even better, it will feature a live set from Synnack vs. Torrent Vaccine! But wait — there’s more! This show will also be a release party for the new Ad-ver-sary CD, A Bright Cut Across Velvet Sky, released on Tympanik Audio!

This event is co-sponsored by WTII and Bit Riot and is sure to be a fun time. Note the early start time, given that it’s on a Sunday.
